Dear Reach for the Stars Nursing Scholarship Program,

My name is Mayson Lane, and I am a recipient of a Reach for the Stars Nursing Scholarship at The University of Kansas Health System. I am in my junior year of nursing school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I currently work on the health system’s telemetry floor as a nursing associate. I work with such an amazing team and am proud to be a part of the health system.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the donors of this scholarship program and the committee who worked toward choosing recipients. This scholarship has come at time that will support me in so many ways. As I complete my nursing degree in 2024, I will have less student debt due to the generosity of the scholarship. This will allow a smoother transition from student to a working registered nurse. Scholarships such as this one will help the health system meet staffing needs and do so in a way that supports the nursing profession.
