Kansas City, Kan. — The University of Kansas Health System has received the 2021 CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) Digital Health Most Wired award as a certified level 8 recipient, an upgrade from last year’s level 7 award.
The recognition is based on an assessment of how effectively healthcare organizations apply technology in clinical and business areas such as clinical quality and safety, patient engagement, population health, data management and analytics, supply chain, cybersecurity and technology infrastructure.
“We can all be proud of this achievement as yet another example of our commitment to quality patient care,” says Chris Harper, chief information officer. “The [IT] team is looking forward to collaborating with our operational partners to lead the health system all the way to level 10 certification.”
The University of Kansas Health System has participated in the Most Wired assessment for the last 14 years, and 2021 marks its highest ranking yet. It is the only health system in Kansas at level 8 or above. It is also the second national recognition in 2021 of the health system’s application of technology, after being designated as a “World’s Best Smart Hospital” by Newsweek in June.
