The health system is proud to offer a variety of training programs throughout the year for physicians, nurses, EMS partners and other health professionals.

  • All healthcare workers have a responsibility to provide quality patient care before, during and after resuscitation. As a certified training center for the American Heart Association, the health system offers employees and community members classes in:

    • BLS (basic life support – CPR)
    • ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support)
    • PALS (pediatric advanced life support)

  • This training program is designed for health professionals who wish to facilitate heart failure education programs for patients and communities. Following completion of this training, participants will receive certification, resources and assistance to provide heart failure education classes that support patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.

  • The STOP Sepsis program (Standard Techniques, Operations and Procedures for Sepsis) trains healthcare professionals to identify and manage sepsis. An evidence-based program, STOP Sepsis equips professionals across the care continuum to provide prompt and effective sepsis care.

  • The health system offers trauma, burn, STEMI, disaster management and other trauma education courses for EMS partners and other community caregivers. To learn more or register for classes, contact the trauma education team at 913-945-6933 or by email.

  • Based on the popular "escape room" game, our Nursing Escape Room program is designed to support nurse engagement, teamwork and education.

    Inside this guide, you will learn how to create a nursing escape room as a learning tool. All health professionals and organizations are welcome to use this educational guide. If you plan to present your escape room content in any forum, please contact us for permission and citation information.
