Kansas City, Kan. – The University of Kansas Health System and Olathe Health achieved a significant milestone in their integration efforts, which were announced in January 2023.
In May 2024, the organizations transitioned several Olathe Health practices to health system branding, systems and processes. As of May 1, 2025, the remaining Olathe Health locations have taken similar steps to become official locations of the health system.
This significant step toward full integration included ambulatory offices, inpatient settings, perioperative settings and other health professions, such as imaging and laboratory spaces. Changing to a health system practice includes:
- Billing model. Many doctor offices became provider-based billing practices.
- Electronic medical record and patient portal. Olathe Health care settings transitioned to the health system's medical record, Epic, and patient portal solution, MyChart.
- New signage. The organizations continue to install signage representing The University of Kansas Health System and services provided by The University of Kansas Hospital.
- New website. OlatheHealth.org will be retired soon, with its content integrated into KansasHealthSystem.com. This brings important information, including physician details, office addresses, MyChart support and more, into a single robust resource.
