Kansas City, Kan. — The University of Kansas Health System announced today Jeff Andersen has been named Vice President of Payor and Market Strategy. Effective January 22, Andersen will lead the health system’s efforts to care for patients through managed care activities and payor relationships.
“Jeff Andersen’s background as a seasoned managed care expert, healthcare professional and native Kansan strengthens our mission across the state,” said Bob Page, president and chief executive officer of The University of Kansas Health System. “We are excited to welcome Jeff to The University of Kansas Health System team.”
Most recently, Andersen served as Secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) where he oversaw environmental management and the state's Medicaid program. Previous to that position, he was a vice president at Vizient/VHA and the president/CEO of Mid-America Service Solutions. Additionally, he has served in leadership positions with Columbia/HCA and Humana Health Plans.
Andersen is a native Kansan who graduated from the University of Kansas and later received a master’s degree in health care administration from University of Missouri – Kansas City. He is stepping into a role vacated in mid-2018.

As Vice President of Payor and Market Strategy, Andersen will report to Doug Gaston, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
