Great Bend Volunteer Information

Volunteer opportunities in Great Bend
At The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend, we offer a variety of ways for you to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of our patients. To help ensure your work is fulfilling and rewarding, we’ll match your skills and interests to the needs of patients and staff in the health system.
- Spiritual care volunteers will spend their time primarily in the emergency department, labor and delivery units and inpatient areas. They will visit patients and support their spiritual needs.
- Hospice volunteers will spend quality end-of-life time with people. They will help people feel valued and cared for and may participate in activities such as playing games, writing letters, reading aloud, performing household activities such as cutting grass or shoveling sidewalks, or simply sitting as a companion.
