Facial Plastic Surgery Services
The natural aging process, combined with years of environmental damage, can contribute to a tired, aged appearance. Wrinkles, fine lines and brown spots – all signs of skin damage – can make us appear older than we actually are.
At The University of Kansas Health System, we offer a complete range of facial plastic surgery procedures to give you a more youthful and vibrant appearance. Here, you can expect natural-looking results that help you attain your aesthetic goals.
Facial plastic surgery overview
Facial plastic surgery includes several possible procedures to help you enjoy a more youthful look. Surgeries can be combined or performed separately, depending on your personal appearance goals. In some cases, facial plastic surgery can be combined with nonsurgical facial rejuvenation for more comprehensive results.
Most people who are in general good health and have realistic expectations about their results can be good candidates for facial plastic surgery. Our skilled surgeons will talk with you about the look you hope to achieve and which options they recommend.
There are many different approaches your surgeon can take to rejuvenate your appearance, depending on the type of procedure being performed. Surgeons at The University of Kansas Health System are experienced in the most advanced surgical techniques available, including minimally invasive office procedures that smooth and tighten the skin.
For those who desire more dramatic results, we perform state-of-the-art surgical rejuvenation and recontouring procedures. All of these techniques are designed to produce a beautiful outcome that won’t give away the fact that you’ve had cosmetic surgery.
We offer a variety of appointment types. Learn more or call 913-588-1227 to schedule now.
Benefits and risks of facial plastic surgery
The goal of plastic surgery is to help you look like a naturally refreshed version of yourself by minimizing the most visible signs of aging. Feeling great about your new appearance can increase your confidence and self-esteem.
The risks of facial plastic surgery are similar to other types of surgery. Your surgeon will go over the benefits and risks of your specific procedure during your consultation.

We offer multiple types of facial plastic surgery:
-
Brow (forehead) lift
A brow lift, or forehead lift, can smooth out lines and creases in the forehead and reduces the appearance of furrows and wrinkles around the upper eyelids. This procedure is typically performed with minimal incisions hidden in the hairline to give you a more relaxed and youthful upper face. -
Chin and cheek augmentation
Chin and cheek augmentation can improve facial harmony by addressing a weak chin and enhancing the cheekbones. Chin implants can also be included as part of a facelift to further enhance jawline definition. -
Ear pinning
Also known as otoplasty, ear pinning surgery reduces the prominence of the ears. This surgery can be performed in children starting around age 4 or 5. While this surgery is most commonly performed in young children, we also perform ear pinning for those men and women who seek otoplasty as adolescents and adults.
-
Eyelid surgery
Signs of facial aging are first expressed around the eyes. These changes produce a fatigued appearance that may be perceived by others as exhaustion. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, addresses contour irregularities caused by poor skin texture, excess skin and prominent under-eye bags. Our facial plastic surgeons can take years off your appearance with an eyelid lift. -
Facelift and neck lift
A facelift can significantly restore a youthful, more refreshed appearance to the face and neck with long-term results. While the neck lift is typically performed as a component of the facelift, some people may be candidates for an isolated neck procedure to reduce signs of aging and excess fat under the chin. -
Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty can improve your appearance by balancing the nasal shape and proportion with other facial features. This procedure can also address breathing problems. Our facial plastic surgeons specialize in performing complicated revision rhinoplasty for people who feel dissatisfied with a previously performed rhinoplasty.
