Physical medicine and rehabilitation services
Rehabilitative services at the health system begin with the assessment of your pain and the subsequent diagnosis. You may choose to visit our PM&R team at any of their convenient locations if you are experiencing new pain following a procedure, accident, new diagnosis or condition, or if you are just developing chronic day-to-day pain.
Our PM&R team can develop a restoration plan to help treat your pain. This plan could include changes to your exercise routines, introducing supportive equipment or changes to your diet and/or medications. Services may also include direct care or referrals for services in tandem with a treatment plan, such as:
- Injections
- Inpatient consultation, treatment and support, and outpatient continuum of care
- Lifestyle intervention
- Medical management
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Psychology/cognitive therapies
- Surgical consultations and referrals
Additionally, being part of an academic medical center, our physicians are researchers and leaders in their fields, using clinical trials and innovative techniques to provide the best, most comprehensive care. Patients at the health system receive the latest treatments, interventions and evidence-based care that is not always available elsewhere.
Support after a traumatic brain injury
A joyful gathering turned frightening after a swing-dancing move went wrong. When Madison Denton's partner tried to flip her, she hit her head on the concrete floor and began to bleed from her ear. She was diagnosed with a TBI, and after careful monitoring was allowed to return home. But she wasn't in the clear yet.
