Pharmacy Services

The University of Kansas Health System pharmacy serves both patients and non-patients. We process your prescriptions, coordinate home delivery, conduct counseling and provide monthly follow-ups. We collaborate with medical teams to provide the best care possible at the lowest cost. Our clinical pharmacists are expertly trained in medication therapy. They assess each prescription for accuracy, clinical appropriateness and potential medication interactions.

About pharmacy services

If you are being discharged from the hospital or have seen a doctor in one of our clinics, we can fill your prescriptions and you can pick them up before you leave. Talk to your physician or care team about sending your prescriptions to our pharmacy. Full payment or your insurance copayment is expected. Our pharmacy services include:

We have made it easier than ever to communicate with a pharmacist 365 days a year. You can contact us if you have questions or concerns about billing, insurance, taking your medications, how to manage side effects and how to store or dispose of your medications properly.

Our MyChart patient portal gives you secure access from your desktop, smartphone or tablet to your medical records and health information. It lets you communicate with your care team, manage prescriptions and receive notifications. You can also quickly track refills and prescriptions through the MyChart app. Enroll in MyChart today using the steps below. If you prefer to enroll in person, you may ask your care team or pharmacy team to sign you up at your next visit.

To refill your prescription in MyChart:

  • Easily refill a prescription at any time by logging into MyChart and selecting “Refill Medications.” If you select to have your prescription shipped directly to your home through MyChart, FedEx will send shipping information to the email address on file.

Our pharmacy offers free home delivery to patients in Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa and Florida. Your medications will be delivered right to your door within 1-2 days at no cost. If your order contains a controlled substance, you will need to be home to sign for the package.

To enroll and have your medications shipped directly to your home:

  • Email the pharmacy team at myrph@kumc.edu. In the email, include your name, date of birth, phone number and which medication you would like delivered to your home.
  • If you prefer to enroll over the phone, call the pharmacy at 913-588-2371.

Pharmacy services for nonpatients

If you are not a patient of the health system, you can still fill and refill your prescriptions at our pharmacy. Let your provider know you would like your prescriptions sent to The University of Kansas Health System pharmacy and include your preferred location.

  • Contact the pharmacy team by calling 913-588-2361 or emailing myrph@kumc.edu. Be sure to include your name, date of birth, phone number and which medication you would like transferred.
  • Let us know which pharmacy your prescriptions are currently being filled at and whether you would like to pick up your medication at one of our locations or have it shipped to your home.
  • Visit MyChart to easily refill your prescriptions.
  • Order your prescription refills by calling our automated refill system at 913-588-2361 and follow the prompts to order your refills. Select the option to either pick up your prescription at the pharmacy or have it delivered directly to your home.
  • Refill your prescriptions online by emailing myrph@kumc.edu. Be sure to include your name, date of birth, phone number and which medication you would like to have refilled. Let us know if you plan to pick up your prescriptions at one of our locations of if you prefer to have them delivered directly to your home. Sign up for email alerts to receive tracking information when your medications have shipped.
