To Our Nurses

Nurse's hands in heart shape.

May 11, 2020

Happy Nurses Week!!!

So, this is a first for most, if not all, of us. Celebrating Nurses Week during a pandemic. As many celebrations have been cancelled over the past few months, I can’t think of a better time to truly celebrate each of you.

You undoubtedly chose this profession out of your desire to help others and to make the world a better place. Never before, at least in my lifetime, have those driving forces been more essential.

I am truly in awe of what you do each and every day. Your commitment to our patients and their families is unparalleled. And during this time when our visitation policy has changed dramatically, your role as a family liaison has never been more important. We all know how important family members and loved ones are to a patient’s treatment and recovery. Now you are playing their role on top of your own role.

From the moment our first COVID patient was admitted, I knew you would answer the call, whatever you may be asked to do. Taking care of COVID positive and rule out patients, standing up and staffing the swab clinics, making sure our non-COVID patients receive great care during this unprecedented time, and helping to implement telemedicine in record time. The list goes on and on. Am I surprised – no. Am I impressed with and proud of you – you bet.

Please take a moment to celebrate yourselves and your colleagues. We have the best nurses in the country. I am so humbled to be on your team. Thank you for everything!!

In gratitude,

Bob Page, CEO
